A project is a folder ending in .gxp that holds your work: texture edits, structures, props, and emergency vehicles. You export it as a FiveM resource when it is ready. The game installation is never written to.

Create a project

1

Click New project

In the Projects tab, click New project. The project opens in the Texturing tool. Save it to create its .gxp folder.

2

Name it

Click the name in the project bar (Project name) and type a new one.
3

Click Save

Choose a folder in the system dialog. The project name becomes the name of the .gxp folder, and the project joins Recent. Emergency vehicles need a saved project, because each one is stored as a file in that folder.

Open a project

The project list shows the projects you opened or saved lately, newest first. It keeps 20.

  • Click a card to open it.
  • Click Open… and choose a .gxp folder, or drop a .gxp folder on the panel.
  • Type in Search project… to match a name or a path.
  • In Recent, filter by a folder or by Today, Last 7 days, or Older. Only one filter applies at a time, and search runs within it. All removes the filter. Each group appears only when it has more than one option.
  • Click a card’s name to rename that project without opening it.
  • Click the ✕ on a card to forget it. The folder stays on disk.
Before you create or open anything, the list is empty.

Work in a project

An open project stays open when you switch to another tab. The Tools rail on the left picks what you work on: Export combines the exportable content from these tools in one project resource. Save, Undo, and Redo act on the document open in the active tool. The project menu badge shows that document’s state: Saved, Not saved, or Failed.
Use Ctrl+S to save, Ctrl+Z to undo, and Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y to redo. These shortcuts are ignored while a text field or dialog has focus. On macOS, use Command instead of Ctrl.
Click the folder icon next to the project name, or choose Project sheet… in the project menu, to open the Project sheet. It shows the folder, the game folder, the dates, and a resource name derived from the project name. Each export destination can use a different name. Its Edited list and Output preview cover Texturing only; structures, props, and vehicles can still export when this sheet says Nothing edited yet.

To close a project, return to the active tool’s list, then click Back to the project list. If anything is unsaved, Close project asks first. Discard drops every unsaved change, including an open structure, prop, or vehicle.

Add game assets to a project

Assets and the Map send items to your project. The Viewer has no project action: find the model in Assets and send it from there.
1

Send the asset from Assets

Select a model, then choose Open in › Projects and a task. The tasks depend on the asset: Edit texture, Create livery, Emergency vehicle, and others. Open in Viewer and Projects lists them.

2

Pick the project

Choose the open project, a recent one, or New project. A new project takes the asset’s name.

Destinations: a recent project and New project.

The app switches to Projects and runs the task. If switching projects would discard unsaved changes, Switch project offers Discard or Cancel.
From the Map, select an object and choose Open in Projects: Create interior, Edit geometry (a new structure with the model’s geometry), or Edit texture. A request from the Map waits if no project is open; open or create a project to continue. An Emergency vehicle request also needs a saved project: click Save project if prompted. Texture and structure requests can run in an unsaved project. Cancel drops the request.

Limits and plans

Your plan sets how many projects you can save, how many textures a project holds, how many structures it holds, how many interiors a structure holds, and how many FiveM servers you can link. Rageon reports the limit when you reach it. The numbers are on the pricing page. If you move to a smaller plan, you can still open and edit what you have. You can only export what fits the new plan.

Troubleshooting

The folder is gone, has no project file, or is damaged. Choose another folder. The entry leaves Recent.
Rageon could not write to the folder. Pick another folder, or one you can write to.
The card rename failed. Open the project and rename it in the project bar.
The first Save of a new project is blocked by your plan. Reopening or saving a project you already saved does not count.
Other errors come from the tool you were using and name the problem after the colon.
