The AI tab turns a description into images and adds the one you choose as a layer on the texture you are editing. It is available on any editable texture except the minimap, and it needs a signed-in account and credits. Plans and credits are explained at rageon.dev/pricing.

Generate a texture

1

Open the AI tab and describe the result

Write what the texture should show in the Request box, up to 2000 characters. Improve the request (the sparkle icon in the box) rewrites your text and also uses credits; Undo restores your original.Add photos attaches reference images in your own style. You can also paste with Ctrl+V or drop image files on the column. References larger than 1024 on the longest side are reduced to fit. The chosen model may accept fewer photos than you attached; dimmed photos are left out of the request.

Choose the type

Material makes a pattern that repeats across a surface: a plate, asphalt, fabric. UV template paints the part unfolded and flattened on the sheet, like the bodywork of a livery.

3

Choose model, quality, size, and candidates

Model and Quality set the image model and its tier: further right on the slider means higher quality and more credits. Size is the image’s longest side, or the longest side of each view when UV template uses model views. It cannot exceed the texture. Candidates asks for one, two, or four variations, each charged in full.
4

Check the cost and click Generate

The cost of the request is at the bottom, next to the button. The price is an estimate: the final amount is calculated when the request is sent. Progress runs through the steps with timers, and you can switch tabs or textures while it works. The result lands in that texture’s history.

While a generation runs, the button becomes Cancel and the footer counts the steps and the time.

5

Use a result

Each candidate appears under Results (…) with its seed. Click Use as layer to add an AI generated layer stretched over the sheet. Images you do not use stay under Library › AI generated.
Results (4) with three candidate images, each with a seed and Use as layer, and a card marked Moderated · refunded

Four results: three candidates with Use as layer and one moderated and refunded.

An AI generated layer keeps the description, model, and seed. Click Reopen in AI in its settings to load them back into the tab. The Seed field then appears: keep it to start from the same draw, or click Clear for a new variation.

Credits and refunds

Credits are charged when the request is sent. A candidate that fails shows Failed · refunded, and one blocked by the content filter shows Moderated · refunded; each gets its credit back. Reusing an image from Library › AI generated costs nothing, and neither do the normal and specular maps derived from a result. Cancel stops the tab from following the request. The request keeps running and its credits are already charged.

Options

PBR maps need a normal or specular texture linked to the one you edit. Relief strength and Height blur require Normals; Brightness contrast and Invert brightness require Specular. If another model shares the linked texture, the map changes all of them.

Every candidate failed and was refunded. Try again.
Some views were left out in UV template mode, and the sheet was built from the rest. The message reports any refund. Delivered views discarded because they changed the object’s shape are not refunded. Generate again if parts are missing.
The final price differed from the estimate. The message names what changed.
Other errors that come from the generation service mean it failed on its side. Try again; if it persists, contact support.
