The Assets tab lists everything in your GTA V installation and in any extra folders you added in Settings. Narrow it down with categories, DLC packs, and search, then open a result to inspect it (Inspect files).

Find an asset

1

Pick a category

Objects groups Common objects (ordinary props), Scenarios, LOD, and Other. Props such as prop_bench_01a are under Common objects. The other categories (Vehicles, Peds, Weapons, Textures, Audio, Metadata, and so on) each show one kind of asset. For wearables, see Clothing.
2

Search by name

Type a model name in Search assets…. Spaces require every term, so police granger only matches names with both. Commas separate alternatives, so prop_bench_01a, prop_streetlight_01 matches either. Case does not matter, and one-character terms are ignored.
Common objects filtered to the bench and streetlight props

Common objects filtered by two prop names.

For weapons, search the model name. A spawn name such as weapon_pistol may not match any file.
3

Set the source and limit

Click Options. Source starts at All and can be Original (game files only) or Mod (assets from your extra folders). Limit caps how many results load, 120 by default, and also offers Unlimited. If the status reads ”… assets found, showing …”, raise Limit or narrow the search.

4

Choose a DLC pack

Pick a pack to see only its assets, or All packs for everything. After choosing All packs, check the results. They may still reflect the previous pack until you search again. Filter DLC… filters the pack list by name or release date, not the assets. A Current badge marks the newest dated pack in your installation, which may not be the newest the game has released.

Clear search empties the query and resets Source to All. Your category and pack stay.

Read the results

The List view shows type, source, file count, and size, and you can sort by Name, Files, or Size. The Grid view shows larger preview cards with the same order. A missing thumbnail only means no preview image was made. The asset can still open.

The Source column shows Base, Update, a DLC pack identifier (or DLC), or MOD. A mod that overrides a game file also shows replaces … with the original’s name. Vehicles that only exist in GTA V Enhanced show Enhanced only when your install is Legacy. Open a result to see its preview and related files in the inspector.

Search from any tab

Press Ctrl+P from any tab to open Search assets. It ignores your category, pack, and source filters and looks at all assets by name, model, or DLC. Enter at least two characters. It lists up to 50 results with their category, pack or source, and archive.

Your filters stay as they were, so the asset you opened may not appear in the list behind the inspector.

Troubleshooting

Adjust the search, category or selected DLC. Widen the query, switch Source to All, pick All packs and search again, or raise Limit.

The pack filter matches no pack name or date. Edit or clear Filter DLC….
The Search assets dialog needs two characters before it searches.
Run the search again. If it keeps failing, try another query.
