An emergency vehicle is a game car configured for your server: stock colors, parts, extras, lightbars, sirens, and handling. Each one is saved as its own file in the project folder, so the project must be saved first. Open Tools › Vehicles › Emergency vehicles. The gallery shows one card per vehicle. Click a card to open it, or click the trash icon (Delete …) and confirm to remove it.
Deleting a vehicle removes its file from the project folder. There is no undo.

Deleting a vehicle asks for confirmation.

Before the first vehicle, the gallery explains itself. In a project that was never saved, New emergency vehicle stays disabled until you save.

Create an emergency vehicle

1

Open the dialog

Click New emergency vehicle. You can also start from Assets: select a car, then Open in › Projects › Emergency vehicle, then choose the open project, a recent project, or New project. Save the chosen project first if prompted. This creates a new-model vehicle named after the car, with a number added if the name is taken.
2

Name it and pick the model mode

Type the Emergency vehicle name, then choose New model (the default) or Changes the game model. In New model, Spawn name and In-game name are suggested from the vehicle name until you edit them. After creation, change these in Model; the base car stays fixed, so create another vehicle to use a different base.
  • New model makes a new car with its own spawn name. No game car changes. Set the Spawn name (the model name used by your server’s vehicle-spawn script) and the In-game name the game shows.
  • Changes the game model edits the game’s own car for the whole server. Colors, sirens, and handling then apply to every car of that model.

Changes the game model shows a note about the whole server.

3

Choose the base car

Type at least two letters in Base car to search, or pick from the list of emergency-class vehicles. Before you enter two characters, cars you edited in Texturing appear before the emergency-class list, marked Textured.
4

Click Create emergency vehicle

The vehicle opens on the stage and its file is already in the project folder. Create emergency vehicle stays disabled until the name contains a letter or number, a base car is selected, and the model fields are valid. For New model, it also waits for the spawn-name check; a failed check offers Try again, and export checks the name again.
A spawn name has 3 to 16 characters, starts with a lowercase letter, and continues with lowercase letters, digits, or _. It cannot match a vehicle that already exists in the game files or another vehicle’s final model in the project. Also check your server’s other resources for the same spawn name.

The editor

Use the Emergency vehicle sheet to edit the car and the timeline to preview its siren pattern. Lights on the stage flash in time with the timeline.

Ctrl+S saves the open vehicle only. To rename it, save first, then click its name in the bar. Click Back to the emergency vehicle list to close it; Rageon asks before discarding unsaved changes.

Cards with a broken file and a repeated model.

A card with a warning triangle is a file that does not open: you can only delete it. A card with a red ✕ repeats the final model of another vehicle, which blocks the export. Change the spawn name of one of them, or delete it.

Liveries

Liveries and other texture work for a project vehicle are made in Texturing. In Texturing, the car appears pinned and dressed as the emergency vehicle. Texturing edits target the base car: a livery on it does not follow a New model. Export also rejects a Texturing livery that targets the new spawn name. To use a livery on the base car, use Changes the game model; lightbars on that model conflict with a Texturing edit that writes the same .yft.

In the game

Export the project to get the vehicle in game (Export as a resource). A new model exports to its own folder under stream/; spawn it with your server’s vehicle-spawn command and its Spawn name. Rageon does not add a spawn command. Colors, sirens, and handling are written to the vehicle’s meta files and apply to every spawn of that model. Apply parts, wheels, and extras by running the Lua snippet in the export’s README.txt from your server script after each vehicle is created; see Colors, parts and extras. If the base car comes from a mod, start that mod’s resource before this project’s resource so its layouts, audio, and shared textures can load. The export takes the vehicle as it is on screen, saved or not. A New model exports even with stock settings. In Changes the game model, a vehicle with no customizations is left out. There is no hot reload for vehicles: export, then restart or ensure the resource.

Limits and plans

Emergency vehicles have no plan limit of their own. The project limits still apply: saving the project counts against your plan’s project limit, and an export fails if the project goes over the plan’s limits for textures, structures, or interiors. Details are on the pricing page.

Troubleshooting

Fix Spawn name.
The spawn name matches a game or mod vehicle. Use another.
Two vehicles end up with the same model. Change the spawn name of one, or delete one.
The name is taken. Pick another Emergency vehicle name.
In-game name is empty.
Click Create emergency vehicle again. If it keeps failing, check that the project folder is writable.
Press Ctrl+S, then rename.
The vehicle file is damaged or was edited by hand. The card cannot open; delete it.
A field of the vehicle file is wrong. The card cannot open; delete it.
Open the project in an app version that supports this vehicle file. Keep the file while you update the app.
The project folder could not be read. Reopen the project.
