Keyboard shortcuts

Tool shortcuts are ignored while a text field or a dialog has focus. Each table links to the page that covers the area in full.

Everywhere

Key	Action
Ctrl+P	Open the asset search. Works with the cursor in a text field. See The interface.
Esc	Close the search. Also leaves full screen.
F11	Enter or leave full screen. Also works on the sign-in screen.
Double-click an empty part of the title bar	Maximize or restore the window.

Over the 3D preview, or with the stage focused. See Inspect files and Light and camera.

Key	Action
F	Frame the model.
C	Switch between the orbit and free camera.
W A S D	Move, in the free camera.
Space or E, Q	Up, down, in the free camera.
Shift (hold)	Faster, in the free camera.
Ctrl+click	Add to the selection in an interior. See Interiors.

Delete	Remove the selected items.

Right button + drag	Look around.
W A S D	Move.
E or Space, Q	Up, down.
Shift (hold)	Faster.
Mouse wheel	Flying speed.
R	Return to the starting view.
[ / ]	Time of day back or forward 15 minutes. Shift moves one hour.
, / .	Previous or next weather.
P	Pause or run the clock.
Esc	Remove the Object card.
F1	Toggle the renderer overlay.
F2	Toggle the lighting debug view.

Key	Action
V / B / M	Move and transform, Brush, Clip layer.
Esc	Cancel a clip selection, then return to move, then deselect.
Delete / Backspace	Remove the selected unlocked layer.
F2	Rename the layer.
Ctrl+D	Duplicate the layer.
Ctrl+[ / Ctrl+]	Move the layer down or up. Add Shift for back or front.
Arrow keys	Nudge the layer 1 px; with Shift, 10 px.
Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y	Undo, redo.
Ctrl+S / Ctrl+E	Save, export to the last destination.

Ctrl+S	Save the project.
Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y	Undo, redo.
Ctrl+E	Export with the remembered destination.
V, B, Shift+M	Select, Box selection, Select map objects.
1, 2, 3, 4	Create room, Portal, Entrance, Scissors. 1 also enters Interior.
5, Shift+5, 7, 8, 9, 0	Props, Remove prop, Edit geometry, Light, Create geometry, Water.
N	Open and close the View panel.
G, R, S	Move, rotate, scale.
X, Y, Z	Lock an axis. Repeat to release.
C	Switch Orbit and Free.
F, Home, Numpad .	Frame the selection. With the Portal tool, F flips the selected portals.
Numpad 1 / 3 / 7	Front, right, and top view. Ctrl gives the opposite side.
Delete, Backspace	Delete the selection.
Esc	End an origin pick, then release the axis lock, then clear the selection. Also cancels a drawing or gesture.
Enter	Close a polygon or outline, or confirm a typed value.
Ctrl+D	Duplicate the selection.
Ctrl+A, Ctrl+I	Select all, invert the selection.
H, Shift+H, Alt+H	Hide the marked pieces, isolate them, show the whole part.
F2	Rename.
