# Requirements

> What your computer, your copy of GTA V, and your account need before you install Rageon.

Rageon runs on Windows and reads your own copy of GTA V. Check these before you install.

| You need | Details |
| - | - |
| **Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit** | Rageon is a Windows app. |
| **GTA V, Legacy edition** | An installed copy of GTA V Legacy. Rageon reads the game's archives from the folder that contains `GTA5.exe`. |
| **A Rageon account** | The same account you use on the website. Every feature needs one, including the **FREE** plan. See [Sign in](/start/sign-in.md). |
| **A DirectX 12 graphics card** | The Map needs a graphics card that supports DirectX 12 or Vulkan. |
| **An internet connection** | To sign in. Later, Rageon opens for up to 7 days without one ([Working offline](/account/overview.md#working-offline)). |

>
> GTA V Enhanced is not supported. Its files use different formats, so the scan fails and the status bar shows a red **Error: …**. Point Rageon to a Legacy installation instead.

## Where the game can be installed

On first launch Rageon reads `C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Grand Theft Auto V`. It does not look for Rockstar Games Launcher or Epic installs. If your game is anywhere else, choose the folder in [First setup](/start/first-setup.md).

Mods are not required, but extra folders with loose `.rpf` files, models, and textures are read together with the game. See [Settings: App](/settings/app.md).

## Troubleshooting

> The scan failed and the status bar turned red. Check that **GTA V folder** in **Settings** › **App** points to a GTA V Legacy folder that contains `GTA5.exe`, then click **Save and scan**. See [Troubleshooting](/help/troubleshooting.md).
