# Introduction

> What Rageon is, what each tab does, and where to start.

Rageon is a Windows desktop app for GTA V and FiveM modders. It reads your GTA V installation and your mod folders, lets you inspect models and the world map in 3D, renders images, and exports assets, interiors, and textures as FiveM resources. It reads your game files and does not modify them.

## The tabs

| Tab | What it is for |
| - | - |
| **Assets** | Find any asset in the game files, inspect its files and textures, and send it to a project. See [Browse assets](/assets/browse.md). |
| **Capture** | Render many models to images in one run. See [Capture overview](/capture/overview.md). |
| **Export** | Queue models and interiors and convert them in one run. See [Export](/export/overview.md). |
| **Viewer** | Look at peds, vehicles, weapons, clothing, interiors, and props in 3D. See [Viewer](/viewer/overview.md). |
| **Map** | Fly over Los Santos with your mods and structures loaded. See [Generate the map](/map/library.md). |
| **Projects** | Build textures, structures, props, and emergency vehicles, then export a resource. See [Projects](/projects/overview.md). |

The window has more than tabs: a task list, a settings dialog, your account chip, and a status bar. [The interface](/start/interface.md) covers them.

## Where to start

**1. Check the requirements**

[Requirements](/start/requirements.md) lists the Windows version and the GTA V edition Rageon reads.

**2. Install and sign in**

[Install and update](/start/install-and-update.md), then [Sign in](/start/sign-in.md). Rageon needs an account for everything, including the **FREE** plan.

**3. Point Rageon to your game**

[First setup](/start/first-setup.md) sets the GTA V folder, extra mod folders, a FiveM server, and the language.

**4. Open a tab**

Search for an asset with [Ctrl+P](/start/interface.md#search-assets-with-ctrlp), or go to [Browse assets](/assets/browse.md) or [Projects](/projects/overview.md).
