# Settings: Bridge

> Add your FiveM servers and install the rageon-bridge resource on them.

`rageon-bridge` is the resource Rageon installs on a FiveM server so it can reload your changes in game. The **Bridge** tab lists your servers and installs the resource. How to use it is in [Hot reload](/projects/hot-reload.md).

![Settings Bridge tab listing FiveM servers with name, path, bridge state, actions, and remove](https://mintcdn.com/rageon/_nzjx4zmIQAxf8Hl/images/settings/settings-bridge.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=_nzjx4zmIQAxf8Hl\&q=85\&s=ce6b9b34edd2f35a850e1101ecd31e1f)

Four servers with different bridge states.

## Add a server and install the bridge

**1. Click Add**

Pick the FiveM server folder, the one that contains `server-data`, or `server-data` itself. Rageon checks that it is a FiveM server and proposes its `resources` folder as the destination.

![Bridge tab with the message No FiveM server.](https://mintcdn.com/rageon/_nzjx4zmIQAxf8Hl/images/settings/settings-bridge-empty.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=_nzjx4zmIQAxf8Hl\&q=85\&s=46075521bb49ede2b7c74c4b037635df)

The tab before any server is added.

**2. Read the Bridge state**

The badge starts at **CHECKING**, then becomes **MISSING**, **CURRENT**, or **OUTDATED**. **ERROR** and **INSTALLING** appear when an install fails or is running. The dot next to it tells whether a server answers on this computer; it is read once when the panel opens.

**3. Open the Actions menu and choose Install**

Choose **Reinstall** if the resource already exists, for example to update an **outdated** one.

The Actions menu of a server.

**Open directory** opens the destination in Explorer. **Change destination folder…** moves where the resource goes; it must be `resources` or a folder inside it, such as `resources/[local]`. Double-click a name, or use the pencil, to rename a server; an empty name returns to the folder name. The X removes the server from the list and leaves any installed resource on the server.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Your plan limits how many FiveM servers you can use. Servers beyond the limit stay in the list but do not get the bridge or exports. A higher plan frees them. See [rageon.dev/pricing](https://rageon.dev/pricing).

## Troubleshooting

> **I found no resources/ folder in here. Choose the FiveM server folder (the one with server-data/, or server-data/ itself).**
>
> The folder you picked has no `resources`. Choose the server folder.

> **I found resources/ but nothing proving this is a FiveM server (server.cfg, FXServer.exe, citizen/, start.bat). Installing here would do nothing.**
>
> Choose the root folder of the server instead.

> **FiveM only loads what is inside resources/. Choose that folder, or a category inside it.**
>
> The new destination is outside `resources`. Pick `resources` or a subfolder.

> **This server is already in the list.**
>
> The folder was added before. Nothing to do.

> **Install failed: …**
>
> Rageon could not write to the server folder. Check permissions and that no program is using the folder, then choose **Install** again.

> **Could not open the folder: …**
>
> The destination no longer exists. Use **Change destination folder…** to set it again.

> **Your plan allows up to … FiveM server(s).**
>
> Remove a server from the list, or check [rageon.dev/pricing](https://rageon.dev/pricing).
