# Export

> Export a structure as part of the project resource, put it on a server, and show your structures on the Map tab.

A project exports as one FiveM resource. Every structure, prop, texture, and vehicle of the project goes into the same folder. This page covers what a structure adds to it. For the dialogs and destinations, see [Export as a resource](/projects/export.md).

## Export from the editor

**1. Open the project menu**

Click the project badge at the end of the structure bar, then **Export**. **Ctrl+E** does the same. On the structure list, the **Export** button opens a menu with **Folder** and your linked servers.

The project badge menu: Save, Export, and Project sheet….

**2. Choose the folder**

The first time, a folder picker opens, then **Export to a folder** asks for a **Resource folder** name and shows the final path. The folder button next to the path changes the folder again. For a server, the folder must be inside its `resources/` folder.

The resource folder name and where it will be created.

**3. Read the result**

**Exporting project** goes through four phases, then **Project exported** lists the files written. Read **Warnings** before installing. **Cancel export** stops it after the current phase, before anything is published, and is disabled in the last phase; **Minimize export** keeps it running in the background.

The files written for a project with one structure.

Export is blocked while the **Checker** shows an error. See [Checker](/projects/structures/checker.md). The next export goes to the same destination with no dialogs and replaces the previous resource. A failed export leaves the old resource untouched.

## What a structure adds

| In the resource | What it is |
| - | - |
| `stream/` | The structure's `.ytyp` and `.ymap`, a `.ydr` for each drawable part of the shell, the `.ybn` collision, a `.ymt` for the interior's sound occlusion, a texture dictionary `.ytd` when textures are packed, and `_manifest.ymf`. |
| `audio/` | The interior's sound data, when the structure has rooms. |
| Water data | Written when you use world water. |
| `fxmanifest.lua` | Declares the resource as a map and registers the interior's `.ytyp`. |
| `xml/` | An XML copy of each file, the form Sollumz opens. |
| `README.txt` | Install notes. |

An imported interior without its own shell exports only the `.ytyp` and `.ymap`. The game keeps using the original interior's model.

## Put it on the server

**1. Copy the folder into resources**

Skip this if you exported straight into the server's `resources/` folder.

**2. Ensure the resource**

Add `ensure` followed by the folder name to `server.cfg`, then restart the server. Rageon does not add the line.

**3. Go to the structure**

Join and go to the part's **Position (m)**. See [Your first interior](/projects/structures/first-interior.md).

To see edits without exporting each time, use [Hot reload](/projects/hot-reload.md).

## Structures on the Map tab

Your saved structures can appear on the Map next to the game's own content.

![Projects section of the Add-ons tab with a project, its path, a count, and a structure with the Off badge](https://mintcdn.com/rageon/_nzjx4zmIQAxf8Hl/images/structures/structures-map-addons.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=_nzjx4zmIQAxf8Hl\&q=85\&s=366247b913a009bcf76c33e35130df70)

Add-ons › Projects: a project and its structure, with switches.

In the **Map** tab, click **Configure the view** › **Add-ons**. **Projects** lists structures from your recent projects. They start off. A switch per project or per structure shows it on the Map at once; turning it off removes it and frees its memory. The Map draws the structure as saved on disk, and the map pieces it replaces disappear while it is on.

| Badge | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Off** | Not on the map. |
| **When opening the Map** | On. The Map draws it while it is open. |
| **Loading** | Being read. |
| **On the map** | Drawn. |
| **Error** | Could not load. Hover for the reason. |
| **Does not open** | The file cannot be opened. Hover for the reason. |

See [Content](/map/content.md) for the other Add-ons groups, and [Interiors](/map/interiors.md) for how the Map shows interiors.

To start a structure from a building on the Map, use **Open in Projects**. See [Create and import](/projects/structures/create-and-import.md).

## Limits and plans

Export needs a signed-in account: if the session has expired, sign in again and export again. Your plan limits structures per project and interiors per structure, and export checks both again. See [pricing](https://rageon.dev/pricing).

## Troubleshooting

> **Export blocked: … problem(s) prevent writing the resource. Click one to mark the culprit.**
>
> The open structure has errors. Click a row in the strip. See [Checker](/projects/structures/checker.md).

> **Export blocked: "…" has … problem(s). Open the structure in Modeling to see what is blocking it.**
>
> Another structure of the project is blocked. Open it from the structure list and fix its errors.

> **Structures "…" and "…" have a part named "…", and the project resource cannot hold two. Rename one of them.**
>
> Rename the part in one of the structures. Select the part in the tree and press **F2**.

> **Structure … does not open: …**
>
> The file cannot be read. Fix it, or delete the card from the structure list.

> **The destination folder exists and is not a resource. Choose another name.**
>
> The folder has no `fxmanifest.lua`. Choose another **Resource folder** name.

> **The folder must be inside the server's resources/ — outside it FiveM does not load the resource.**
>
> Pick a folder inside the server's `resources/` folder.

> **Your plan allows up to … structure(s) per project.**
>
> Remove a structure, or see [pricing](https://rageon.dev/pricing).

> **The project has nothing to export: no texture with layers and no structure, prop or emergency vehicle with content.**
>
> The project has no content to write. Add a room, a prop, or geometry to a structure, or a texture with layers.

> **The file no longer exists.**
>
> Shown in **Add-ons** › **Projects** for a structure whose file was deleted or moved outside Rageon.

> **Repeats a part of …, which is already on the map.**
>
> A copy of a structure in another project is skipped. Turn on one of them only.

> **Export failed: …**
>
> Read the reason after the colon. Nothing is published when an export fails.
