# Troubleshooting

> Fix the messages Rageon shows at startup, sign-in, scanning, updates, and in Settings, and find the Troubleshooting section of each tool.

This page covers the app itself: opening it, signing in, scanning the game, updating, and Settings. A message from a tool, such as an export or a capture, is on that tool's page. Use [By area](#by-area) to find it.

## Startup and scanning

> **Loading keys and indexing RPFs...**
>
> Rageon is opening your game files. This is the first step of the scan that runs when the app starts. Wait for **Indexing assets...** and then **Ready**.

> **Indexing assets...**
>
> Rageon is building the asset catalog. When the status bar reads **Ready**, it also shows how many RPFs and assets were indexed.

> **Sources changed, rescanning...**
>
> A folder with **Watch** on changed, so Rageon scans again by itself. To stop this, turn **Watch** off for that folder in **Settings** › **App**.

> **Error: …**
>
> The scan failed. The status bar turns red. Open **Settings** (gear) › **App**, check that **GTA V folder** points to the folder that contains `GTA5.exe`, then click **Save and scan**. Check the folders under **Directories** too. See [First setup](/start/first-setup.md).

> **Type at least 2 characters.**
>
> The search opened with **Ctrl+P** starts after two characters.

> **No assets found.**
>
> The **Ctrl+P** search has no match. Try another part of the name, the model, or the DLC. This search ignores your filters in **Assets**.

## Sign-in

> **Waiting for the authorization in your browser…**
>
> Rageon is waiting for the website to send you back. Finish the sign-in in the browser. If you closed the tab, click **Open the website again**.

> **This authorization doesn't belong to the latest sign-in. Click Sign in again.**
>
> You came back from an older sign-in tab, from another computer, or after reopening the app. Click **Sign in** and use only the tab that opens now.

> **Sign in to Rageon**
>
> This screen returns when you click **Sign out**, when the offline period ran out (see [Offline](#offline)), or when the Windows clock is set earlier than the last time Rageon checked your session. Sign in again. With a wrong clock, fix the date first.

> **Sign in to your account to continue.**
>
> Your session is missing or expired. Click **Sign out** in **Settings** › **Account**, then **Sign in**, or reopen the app.

> **Your session predates the plan limits. Sign in to your account again.**
>
> Your saved session is an old one that does not carry your plan limits. Click **Sign out** in **Settings** › **Account**, then sign in again.

See [Sign in](/start/sign-in.md) for the full flow.

## Device limit

> **Your plan already uses all its devices. Free one on the website to sign in on this one.**
>
> The **Device limit** screen lists the computers that take your plan's slots. Click **Manage on the website**, free one, return to Rageon, and click **Try again**. Rageon cannot free a device for you.

> **This computer isn't registered on your account. Reopen the app to register it.**
>
> A feature that talks to the server, such as AI generation, found no registration for this computer. Close Rageon and open it again with a network connection.

## Offline

> **Offline; session valid for … more day(s)**
>
> Rageon cannot reach the server but lets you keep working for up to 7 days after the last online check. Connect to a network and reopen the app within that time. Features that ask the server, such as AI generation, the weekly quota, and your credit balance, still need a connection.

> **Offline; session valid for less than a day**
>
> The grace period ends within a day. Connect to a network and reopen Rageon to renew the session. After that, the app returns to **Sign in to Rageon**.

> **No connection to the generation server.**
>
> AI generation needs a network. Check your connection and try again.

## Updates

> **The update failed. Click to try again.**
>
> The download or installation did not finish. Click the badge in the status bar to reopen the notes, then **Install and restart**. The dialog footer says **The update failed.** If it fails again, download the installer from the [Rageon website](https://rageon.dev). See [Install and update](/start/install-and-update.md).

> **Installing the update…**
>
> Not an error. The badge and the button stay disabled while Rageon installs. The app restarts by itself.

## Cache

> **Cache not updated: …**
>
> Rageon could not save the new limit. Click **Save** again. If it still fails, close and reopen the app.

> **Not cleared: …**
>
> The area is in use, or the removal failed. Close the **Map**, wait for any capture or generation to finish, and clear it again. Items marked **In use** belong to the workspace that is open. See [Cache](/settings/cache.md).

## FiveM servers

These messages appear in **Settings** › **Bridge**. See [Bridge](/settings/bridge.md).

> **I found no resources/ folder in here. Choose the FiveM server folder (the one with server-data/, or server-data/ itself).**
>
> The folder you chose has no `resources` folder. Choose the server folder that contains `server-data/`, or `server-data/` itself.

> **I found resources/ but nothing proving this is a FiveM server (server.cfg, FXServer.exe, citizen/, start.bat). Installing here would do nothing.**
>
> The folder has `resources` but no sign of a FiveM server. Choose the root folder of the server.

> **FiveM only loads what is inside resources/. Choose that folder, or a category inside it.**
>
> **Change destination folder…** accepts only `resources` or a folder inside it, such as a category folder.

> **Install failed: …**
>
> Rageon could not write to the server folder. Check that you can write there and that no program is using it, then choose **Install** again.

> **Could not open the folder: …**
>
> **Open directory** did not find the destination folder. Choose it again with **Change destination folder…**.

> **Your plan allows up to … FiveM server(s).**
>
> Remove a server from the list, or see [pricing](https://rageon.dev/pricing). Servers over the limit stay in the list but do not receive the bridge or exports.

For the bridge states (**missing**, **outdated**, **error**) and the hot reload messages, see [Hot reload](/projects/hot-reload.md#troubleshooting).

## Plans, quotas, and credits

> **Your plan does not include …**
>
> Your plan lacks that feature, for example batch export. See [pricing](https://rageon.dev/pricing).

> **Weekly … quota used up: … of … used. It renews on ….**
>
> You used the weekly allowance for exports or captures. Wait for the renewal date, or see [pricing](https://rageon.dev/pricing). A request larger than the whole weekly allowance is refused too: use a smaller batch.

> **Too many requests in a row. Wait a moment and try again.**
>
> The server limits how fast you can send requests. Wait a moment. When the message gives a time ("Try again in … s"), wait that long.

> **Your credits don't cover this generation, which costs ….**
>
> You have fewer credits than the generation costs. Lower the quality, size, or candidates, or get credits on the website. See [Credits](/account/credits.md).
