# Cameras

> Frame every capture with one or more saved cameras, each with its own angle and optional lighting.

Every camera you add produces one more image for every selected model: two cameras and 50 models make 100 images. Cameras are shared by all modes.

## Edit a camera

**1. Open the editor**

In **Settings**, under **Cameras (1)**, click **Edit** on a camera. The editor loads one of your checked models, so you see the framing you will get. Check at least one model first: with none checked, no model loads.

The camera editor on a prop.

**2. Pick a sample model**

**Sample model** previews another model from your selection. It does not change what you selected for the run. In **Mannequin** mode the field is **Model**, and it picks an exact piece and texture.

**3. Set the angle**

Name the camera, then set **Azimuth**, **Elevation**, **Tilt**, and **FOV**. Dragging the image also orbits.

**4. Click Done**

Edits apply as you make them, so there is nothing to save.

Give each camera a different name. The name feeds the `{{camera_name}}` and `{{angle}}` variables in [file names](/capture/output.md#file-names), so two cameras with the same name can write the same file.

## Options

| Option | What it does | Default |
| - | - | - |
| **Azimuth** | Turns around the model, 0 to 360°. 0° is the front. | 35° |
| **Elevation** | Looks from above or below, −89° to 89°. | 25° |
| **Tilt** | Rolls the image, −180° to 180°. | 0° |
| **FOV** | Field of view, 10° to 120°. Low values flatten perspective. | 50° |
| **Auto frame** | Fits each model on its own, so a small prop and a bus both fill the frame. | On |
| **Margin around** | Empty space around the fitted model, 0 to 2. Needs **Auto frame**. | 0.1 |
| **Distance** | Fixed distance in meters, 1 to 100. Needs **Auto frame** off. | 10 |
| **Frame only the part** | Fits the captured clothing or mod instead of its whole base. Needs **Auto frame**. | Off |

**Frame only the part** appears when the capture sits on a base, such as a mod on its vehicle or clothing on a mannequin. Turn it on for a close-up of the part.

## Fixed distance

Turn **Auto frame** off to use one distance for every model. A big model then looks big and a small one looks small, which suits a set you want to compare. Scrolling the wheel over the editor image also switches to a fixed distance.

Auto frame off and Distance set to 5.

## Lighting per camera

A camera follows the [global lighting](/capture/preview-and-environment.md#lighting) until you click **Lighting** in its editor. That gives the camera its own manual light: **Manual directional light** turns on and the light controls appear. The camera is marked in the list, and changes here no longer touch the other cameras. **Light intensity** is not saved per camera: every camera uses the global value from **Settings** › **Lighting**.

![Camera editor in Lighting mode with manual light controls](https://mintcdn.com/rageon/tGC-5rfc07564TOG/images/capture/capture-camera-light.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=tGC-5rfc07564TOG\&q=85\&s=600b1540e81014f3b6428753cc72c88b)

A camera with its own manual light.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Opening the **Lighting** tab is enough to give a camera its own lighting, and it cannot go back to the global one. Add a new camera and remove the old one, after noting its **Azimuth**, **Elevation**, **Tilt**, and **FOV**: a new camera starts at 35°, 25°, 0°, and 50°.

## Add more cameras

Click **Add camera**. The new camera opens in the editor. Give it a distinct **Name** and a different **Azimuth**, such as 180 for a rear view. **Remove camera** drops a camera's images from future runs; at least one camera must remain.

Cameras (2) after adding a rear view.
